Hi All,

Another great week with lots of different things happening.

If there’s one thing we have learned in these past couple of weeks is that when we work together & do the right thing most things work out well. This relates to our club, children, the coaches etc, the boys and girls working hard at training and doing their best on the court.

Something I noticed was when we ask children if they won their game they only think about the score but winning is about much more than the score at the end of the game. Winning is about feeling good, running around with a smile, enjoying your teammates’ company, learning from coaches or even doing something that you may have not tried before. Please remember winning is not the final score.

The Representative season is about to start shortly so please look at the Southwest web site for trial dates. The U16 & U18 boys start trials on Sunday 16^th August & the U16 & U18 Girls on Monday 17^th August. Please view Southwest Pirates face book for more information.

This coming week we have the Ekka holiday on Friday but we will still have Basketball Games and training as usual. Could you please tell your coach if you are unable to play this coming weekend so arrangements can be made.

The QSL competition has their first home game on Saturday 15^th with the Women’s game starting at 6pm and Men’s at 8pm. I would like for Rockets to go & support our sponsored player Mathiang when they play at home. This will be extremely exciting for our kids who he has been training. I know Mathiang would appreciate us going to watch him play.
