8th March newsletter

Hi All,

As there were not as many games this week due to Runcorn being unavailable, becaues of this I did not have the chance to see many of you on the weekend but hopefully we can catch up next week.

This coming season Rockets are sponsoring a player in the NBL1 Men’s & Ladies’ competition (this is the old QBL) and a player from SBL . We are hoping that all of these players will spend some time at our training and I am sure we will all be excited to go and see “our” players play. The first home game will be on 2nd May at Hibiscus & we have a couple of ideas of what we may do for our members who attend the NBL1 games.

Now that Summer has officially finished, not in temperature just in the dates, we are now looking at our “Winter collection”. Yes we are going to have a Winter & Summer collection in our clothing range. We will have more Track Suits and we will also have Hoodies & Wind Jackets, the pic of them below does look pretty cool and both have pockets if you can’t see it in the picture. The winter collection will be here in about 6 weeks. If you think you would be interested in a hoodie or Wind Jacket please send us an email, this will give us an idea of orders, we are waiting on freight costs to determine the final pricing.

I think it is terrific when I walk into the stadium and see all our players in their Rockets gear. If I am not sure where to go when I can see Rockets people I know immediately that someone can help me, even in a shopping centre it's great when you get a “high Five” from Rockets kids as they walk past.

The 6th March was International Employee Appreciation Day – we have no employees as everyone involved with Rockets is a volunteer but I would like to thank our committee, coaches, managers and all our volunteers, including the mums & dads who wash the Singlets, people who sell our raffle tickets (that is coming at the Tournament) do the Score bench and the list that goes on. If you see someone doing something nice for your child or family a simple thank you is a wonderful way to show your appreciation and make them feel valued. We are always looking for helpers if you have some time, maybe at the up comin gtournament. We will give you more information on the tournment next week.

There are so many things that we do that makes us different to other peopole's lives. Most of all I think it is terrific when I see the attitude of the Rockets players, the ways they treat our coaches, respect the umpires and other team members and most importantly how the kids enjoy the game. We have almost 400 registrations this season and it is very pleasing to see how our members act when compared to other clubs that would only have a quarter of our numbers so thank you everyone.

Loud cheering for our teams & your children from parents, grandparents & friends is great. I believe a great pass or great defence is as good, if not better than someone who shoots a 3 pointer. So please cheer thoes great passes and the great defence.

Have a great week and see you all at training or at the game.

Kind regards, from the courts.
