Hi All,

I attended a Southwest Board meeting this week & sport is no different to anyone else as we are unsure when we will be back in full swing. In a normal year we do not have a competition or training during the school

holidays so it is normally a quiet time now anyway.

Southwest do have a range of things they are looking at doing during this down time which we will all get a

benefit from when we return, so that will be great.

I have spoken to some of the coaches asking what we can do for everyone during the holidays. A lot did come

back wanting things to do while we are exercising social distancing but were not sure what would be the best.

After much deliberation we decided to created a Utube channel and put up training videos on there where the

I would like to thank one of our sponsors Body Corporate Services for the use of their IT department in setting

up the Utube channel and so many other things.

Our training videos will be a staged process where we will build on the difficulty of the drills with each video we post. Other things we will be looking at doing is if players would like to have evaluation test on their skills. We do not expect everyone to play for Australia or Rep but to just be the best they want to be and we would be happy

to assess any gaps in their skills.

Every dark cloud has a silver lining and our silver lining is we have developed a utube video where the parents are able to be involved with the kids basketball & be their coach, it is also a great way to keep in touch with our members.
