Hi All

Busy week this week, Sidney Mines completed his holiday camp and the Basketball State Championships are played all over the State.

From the children I spoke to & what I saw, everyone had a great time at Sidney's camp and Jonathan & the other coach were a great hit with the kids. One of the parents told me their child came away with a different attitude to things and did learn some extra skills. I think Sidney would be very happy with that outcome.

Over these holidays we have had many players playing all over the State in representative teams. The first week of the holidays we had 8 boys playing at Logan in the U16 tournament & 10 boys playing in the U14 championships in Cairns.

Congratulations goes to Tony Cameron one of our Rockets U14 boys’ coaches. Tony coached the division 3 - Under14 boys’ Pirates representative team and they won Gold at the championships well done everyone. The U14 Pirates representative team has 4 Rockets boys, the coach, assistant coach and manager in the team so lots of Rockets people in the team, maybe that is why they are so happy.

We have 14 Rockets boys & girls in the Under 12 Representative competition who start their games in Townsville this week. So it is a busy time in Basketball for lots of people. Not only do we have players playing but we have a couple of our players travelling to other centres to umpire the State Championship games.

Well done everyone who is doing something relating to representative Basketball over this break.

Still on representative basketball, there have been representative trials held over the last month for next year in the under 16 & under 18 age group and we have had over 20 Rockets players make these teams, the under12 & under14 trials will be held in November.

I have more information about a range of things which I will inform you later on this week.
