Requirements for attending basketball. Message from South West

Good Morning

Stage 3 of the Covid-19 Roadmap, for both the Queensland Government and Basketball Queensland, is now in place.

This means that we can return to Basketball, with some restrictions and requirements in place.

Please keep in mind that as an Association, we must adhere to those requirements, so we have the best chance of keeping our players on the courts playing.

In addition to the points below, from this Friday, South West Metro will also have a QR Code that will need to be scanned on entry by all persons over 18 entering our venues, ie. Hibiscus, Runcorn High, Mansfield High, Calamvale College, etc. Once the QR Code is scanned, this should take the user directly to a form on their mobile that must be completed in full. The QR Code should also be scanned on the way out of the venue as well to "check-out". We require the information to be completed in as much detail as possible to ensure we have the information for contact tracing, should another wave of Covid-19 hit.

* Any unwell individuals will not be allowed into the stadium and all players, parents and spectators are encouraged not to attend if they are feeling unwell.

* Do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to your game's tip-off time.

? * All players, coaches, team managers and spectators are to observe social distancing requirements in the common areas, eg. spectator seating, canteen, etc.

* In between games, there is a sanitising process to be carried out by the venue staff or SWMBI Supervisors, where seating is or where contact has been made.

? * Everyone will be required to bring their own filled water bottle, with no sharing of water bottles allowed. The water fountains are currently unable to be used and are a Covid-19 NO ACCESS item.

? * Players must avoid any unnecessary contact, eg. no high fives or handshakes.

? * Hand sanitiser is to be used on entry and on exit, and during breaks if required - there will be sanitiser at each court for players to access.

* Wipes will be available to sanitise basketballs before and after games.

* After your game has concluded, you must leave the venue within 10 minutes of the finishing time. If parents have multiple children playing, you may be required to leave the court area/venue, until the sanitising of the court area and seating has been completed.

If you are visiting our stadiums prior to Friday, players must ensure their correct names are listed on the scoresheets or tablets and all spectators over the age of 18 must sign in at the entry point of the stadium.

We thank-you for your assistance in keeping our courts safe, healthy and Covid-19 free!
