Season 1 dates

To date we have had 8 games, 9 training sessions, our Sign on grading day and we have another week to go for this term.

Friday 31st and Saturday 1st April are our last dates for this term. We will then have 2 weeks holidays and then start training the week of 17th April. Season 1 will finish on the 17th June.

Taiwan trip

We are starting to get more and more people interested in our Taiwan trip so if you have any interest in playing and going to Taiwan please tell us a soon as you can. Our Coaches are Ramanda for the 15years and under and Robbie McGowan the 13 years and under. We will get a range of coaches such as Deola and Derek Washington (NBL1 coach) to come to their training sessions. In April we will inform those that have shown an interest our itinerary, exact costings and training program.

Things in people lives

There are so many things in peoples lives that we are unaware of. This week the mother of one of our coordinators suddenly passed away and we have the start of Ramadan. So if someone is not their usual jolly self, does not get everything done or late to training or games, there could be many things happening in their lives that we are not aware of. Just ask if everything is ok, it is surprising how powerful those few words are and you may learn things about people you did not know.

Mental Health Workshop

If you are interested in attending the workshop this coming Saturday which is held at Runcorn State High School - please contact me. Rockets are paying all costs for the workshop.

U10 Games

We currently have available space in our U10 teams so if you are “train only” and want to play games please send us an email and we can see what we can do to help you. You can play U10 if you were born in 2014 or later.

This coming Saturday night

NBL1 returns to Hibiscus on Saturday night, Rockets will be playing a quick game of under 8’s during the halftime of the ladies games and under 10 will play during half time of the men’s game. Please contact me if you would like to play in either of these games. It is pretty exciting for the kids playing under the lights and please remember there can only be 2 teams so first in will get a Singlet but we will try to get as many children playing as we can.

What we will do for the children at the NBL1 game

For those of you that are new to Rockets when our children play at half time we give every person who comes to the game wearing their Rockets gear a voucher for chicken nuggets and chips. When you go to the stadium, at the door the staff will give you a voucher to present at the food counter and you can get your free container of chicken nuggets and chips.

Robbie McGowan one of our U18 Coaches will be playing for the Red City team NBL1 Team and Leah Scott our U14 Girls team coach is playing for the Pirates Ladies team so it will be great to see them play. Some players in the Pirates NBL1 team that have played at Rockets as juniors are Brendan Teys, Roman Siulepa and Ben Volkman.

You will need to buy your tickets for the game online, please get your tickets early and don’t be late to the game as seats do fill up quickly.
