Hi All,

Over the break I saw many games of Basketball at both our mini tournament and State Championships (I also forgot to mentions one of our coaches that did the State Championships Nico Limans ☹). Watching these games I continually see the difference between winning and succeeding.

In a game of Basketball your opponent can score more points than you but you can still be the winner or your team may score more points than your opponent but you may still lose. I know that sounds strange but everything relates to what you do, if you walk off the court & you can say to yourself that you were the best player or person you could have been, you will always be successful, no matter what the score.

We want all the children to be the best person that they can be, they do not have to be better than others they just have to be the best person that they can be. Being in a team sport is difficult sometimes and we all have to remember we can only control what we can control and we should not worry about things we can’t control. We can’t control what others do but we can control what we do, how hard we try, how we behave and act.

When you come off the court, having a smile and congratulating our team mates is a great start.

First week back was so great I saw parents who were asked to be Managers and to help score step up and help it was very much appreciated, so thank you.

We have a couple of our coaches training some rep teams & they have said that if we hire the courts, they will help with anyone that would like extra training. The extra training will start this Saturday at the courts from 3pm – 4pm for $15 for the session. We are looking for children in the U11age group & above for the first week & see how it goes. If it is really hot, the kids could go for a swim at the Runcorn pool after the training - what a great finish to a Saturday that would be.
