Hi everyone,

I was not going to make a big deal of it but I got a compliment from the Supervisors and staff at the Basketball venues on Saturday so I thought I should mention it to everyone.

The first thing I would like to do is say thank you to our parents. I currently have a team that has not won a game this season – there are a few different reasons and we have been close a couple of times. Last week we got beat again and towards the end of the game the boys were hustling and fighting for the ball and rolling around the ground. The parents were all cheering the team on.

P.S - we won this week

The players loved when the parents cheered, the parents were cheering the boys efforts not the score and this is how children's sport should be. Next season all these children will be better because of this season and would have learnt a lot about themselves and the game of basketball.

At Runcorn and Calamvale the chairs have to be brought out and put away at the end of the weekend. The supervisors at both venues have spoken to me and said that they have found that it is mainly Rockets players and families that help them unpack and pack up – again this is the culture of our club and what we want to instil in our children.

So thank you for that.
