Our season is now well underway so I hope you are enjoying your Basketball.

Dates of games

To organise your holiday, below is when our last games are on.

Last day of school this term is Friday 15th September – there will not be any games that Friday as there is CBSQ (Champion Basketball School of Queensland) playing. Therefore our last games will be on 8th/9th September.

Round 10 commences on 6th October and the normal season finishes 15th and 16th November.

Semi Finals 22nd and 23rd November

Grand Finals - 29th November and 30th November

Training Venues

Due to unforeseen circumstances, some of the venues we had initially planned to use for training and games will not be available during September.

One such venue is Runcorn State High School. The school will be undergoing floor resurfacing throughout September which will impact the first 2 weeks as the last 2 weeks of September are the school holidays. We did know about this which is why we had a grading day before the season so everyone had an extra session before the season started and we always go a week later than all the other clubs.

We are still looking at making adjustments to our training schedule and Southwest Metro will be finding alternative venues for our teams to play in the first week of September, remembering there are no games in the second week of September because of CBSQ.

We understand that this may cause some inconvenience and disruptions to our usual routine, but we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. Our priority is to provide the best possible environment for our teams to train and compete, and the floor resurfacing at Runcorn is an important step in maintaining the quality of the facility.

This week Wednesday 23rd August and Thursday 24th August

Runcorn is not available this Wednesday and Thursday due to a school function. Under 8s and Under 10s that train on Wednesday (tomorrow) you are welcome to come to make up a class on a Monday or Friday session and those that train as teams there are venues organised to replace Runcorn. Please see you coach as the coordinator should have informed them.

Representative Basketball

We would like to congratulate all the U18 boys and girls for making the representative teams.

A special shout out goes to our 2 Queensland representative players Brandon Nolan for U14 and Jasraj Gill from our U18 team who are both in Perth currently for the Australian Championship and good luck to Thomas Slinger who will be playing in the Australian U14 competition in September.

Prior to the school holidays we will have photos of the touring teams to Taiwan
