First week of no games finished only one week to go

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is well and very rested.

We have been very busy and I will share with you what is happening in the next month COVID 19 permitting.

Our Movie day will be on Sunday 29th August at 4pm and we will tell you more in the next week. If you would like to attend you are still able to buy tickets & remember Rockets are subsidising the adults tickets by $15 &children tickets by $10. This makes the adult tickets only $10 & children $5. Currently we have over 150 attending so it will be a great afternoon and I have been told the movie is really good. If you are interested, please go to our web site for tickets.

Information on our season. This season is a week longer than season 1, at the beginning of the season the committee decided not to increase the fees even though it was a week longer and decided the club would cover the extra costs.

We have had lock down for 2 weeks and after lots of discussion with Southwest they have extended the season an. Taking a step back you were not charged for the extra week this season and we only lost 1 week so it has all worked out very well that Rockets did not charge for the extra week this season. All the new dates are under “Competition Notes” at the bottom of each week’s draw when you use the App.

Those that have been with us for a while know that we try to do something most holidays & these coming holidays will be no different. We are going to do a little tournament for everyone at no cost to all of our members. On Friday 24th September and Saturday 25th September we have hired all 4 courts each evening at Hibiscus & will play games. This will be a little exciting for those that normally don’t play their game on an evening & we will try to mix up the age groups so the children can get a chance to see age groups play they would not normally see. We will be determining which team plays in which group so we may have teams playing in a different age group to their normal age group or in a different division. Over the next few weeks we will inform the coaches of the draw.

As well as the game on those evenings all our players will receive a voucher for chips & a can of drink (exactly like the Pirates games) or a Burger. This is not in replacement of our Christmas break up, this is something extra for everyone.

All our games will be supervised by Southwest referees and have court supervisors.

We have a couple of our age coordinators organising games and doing up the draw, we will have it all finalised in a couple of weeks.

Talk to everyone soon

From the home courts for another week
