This coming weekend is the first game of competition proper.

This weeks games

To take the court this coming weekend, you would need to have registered with Basketball Connect and be in the system.

Basketball Connect is not an instantaneous process it does take several days to come through so I would recommend that you register by Tuesday.

Saturday night game

For those of you who went to the Pirates NBL1 game I hope you enjoyed the nuggets and chips supplied by us and had a great night. The ladies’ game was truly exciting winning in overtime but the men’s team didn’t have a great game but Robbie our coach had quite a good game for the opposition.

Ordered anything

If you have ordered anything and have not received it, please send me an email and you can pick them up in Eight Mile Plains. If you’re still feeling the cold, we do have Hoodies, Jackets and Tracksuits still available but not in all sizes, so please be quick.

Separating divisions

Southwest Metro the governing body are looking at splitting divisions where there are more than 10 teams in a division, such as the under 15 red. They will be trying to undertake this process this week prior to the commencement of competition.

Please be aware every team must supply someone on the bench to score or keep time, so the coach may come ask a parent to help. If you are new to this, there is always someone to assist you, so please ask for help.

Watching some of the games last weekend, it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves.

We will have 68 Rockets teams playing this coming week and we just reached our 660^th registration. We still have a couple of spots available for younger girls if you know anyone who wants to play.

Rockets in the community

We will be running a Basketball program on 12th August for Warrigal Road School and doing something for Macgregor State School in terms 3 & 4.
