What will happen in future

For the first 4 weeks the draw will come out on a Wednesday or Thursday as other clubs keep adding teams. Rockets like to have as many of our members playing as often as possible so we register all our teams the first week. This week the draw was finished on Monday afternoon but Southwest Metro received something like 17 change requests which is why we only just got it today. The requests were mainly about coaching clashes where coaches had 2 teams at a similar time in different locations.

After the 4 weeks the draw will be out for the term and the first week of next term the draw will be out for the entire season.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience and communicating with us about things. It has been extremely difficult not being able to have our regular venues and I know this has caused a lot of stress on families but it was out of our control. We have just had our 680th registration and we have 67 teams playing this weekend (we don't have 11 in a team, we have many children who train with us but don't play games) so we are glad so many children have had the opportunity to play a sport with their friends and meet new friends.

Support

Everyone will be either rusty or new so please just support whatever they do. On the way home you don't have to ask how many points they scored, you should ask how many times did you create a turn over or have an assist. Keeping score of your child points can lead to children thinking that is what is important but in a team sport it is not the most important thing, the most important thing is being a good team mate.
